Student Leadership - Associated Student Body

Edgewood Academy’s Student Leadership Program is a leadership development program otherwise known as Student Council and Associated Student Body (ASB).  It will support, organize, and participate in extracurricular activities and events of a cultural, social, athletic, and recreational nature on behalf of students as approved by the Principal and Leadership Teacher (Advisor).  Participation may involve getting permission to leave class to help with ASB-related activities as well as staying after school.  Some after-school activities may be in the evening hours.  It is important for parents to make arrangements to pick up and drop off students as necessary. 

Students are learning important leadership skills by participating in the program including:

• Public speaking
• Effective communication 
• Budgeting
• Organizing major schoolwide events
• Using tools and equipment 
• Planning and strategizing
