LA PUENTE – Armando Garcia, Bassett Unified’s 2019 Classified Employee of the Year, has worked as an Instructional Health Assistant for over 12 years at Bassett High School, not only assisting students with academics but being attentive to their healthcare needs as well.
Garcia was honored during Classified Employees Appreciation Week, when Superintendent Debra French and her cabinet presented him with a special plaque in front of cheering administrators and high school faculty and staff.
“Lucky doesn’t even begin to describe how I feel to be able to help students every single day – I am blessed, and I am passionate about what I do, so to be recognized for that, it means a lot,” Garcia said.
In honor of teacher and staff appreciation week, Superintendent Debra French and members of her cabinet went from site to site, announcing each teacher and classified employee of the year, awarding them with a special plaque.
“Bassett Unified School District is a community of hardworking teachers and staff, who dedicate themselves every day to the success of our students,” French said. “Thank you to all of our teachers, staff and classified members who give their time, their talents and their expertise so that our students can achieve their goals.”
Bassett Unified will honor teachers and employees during a regular board meeting Tuesday, May 28, thanking them once again for their hard work and dedication to students.
