BUSD Preparing to Expand Hybrid Learning to 7th and 8th Grades

Bassett Unified is preparing to expand our hybrid learning model to 7th and 8th grade students across the district. While the logistical details are being worked out, we are moving forward with aligning the bell schedules to make this transition easier on students, teachers and parents. Starting Monday April 26, all 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students will adopt the Hybrid Learning class schedule. (see attached)

This schedule is designed so that students can have all periods in one day, much like the schedules before distance learning. In the morning, Synchronous instruction will take place for the designated periods (periods 1, 2, and 3 on Monday and Thursday; periods 4, 5, and 6 for Tuesday and Friday). After lunch, students will check in with their remaining periods and be assigned asynchronous work. Wednesdays will still be full distance learning.

We ask for your support in spreading the word on these changes so that there is minimal disturbance to student learning. We have posted our Reopening playbooks, Welcome back videos, and school safety plans on each school’s website, and ask that 7th and 8th grade parents and students review these items in preparation for our hybrid learning expansion.
